Quick! Get These Garden Issues Addressed Before The Summer Gets Hotter!
It’s unfortunate, but it’s a fact that the garden is never really a ‘no maintenance’ part of your home. It’s always going to need some kind of TLC over the months, even if you’ve designed the space to be as low effort as possible. Garden issues need to be evaluated and solutions need to be provided.
And that’s what we’re here to warn you about today! The summer heat is going to make it a lot less appealing to get to work in the garden. And at the same time, all you’re really going to want to do is enjoy the hot weather and try and relax!
But you can’t quite sit there in peace knowing there’s still quite a few jobs to do! So let’s make sure you can actually enjoy your summertime outside.

Clear Overgrown Plants From Pathways
You don’t want to come back into the house every single day with scratches and bumps all over your legs, from where plants have caught your bare skin or you’ve suffered an allergic reaction to their sap.
And if there are overgrown plants littering the pathways around your garden, now’s the time to cut them back and get rid of the annoying growth.
If you have an organic waste trash can, throw the shoots in here and have the job done within a couple of hours. Or if you’d prefer, you can also throw them onto the compost heap no problem, as you’ve still got time to set up a good pile for the autumn and winter ahead.
Patch That Hole in the Fence
You don’t want to let the dog out into the garden for a bit of fresh air on a sunny day, only to call them back in again 5 minutes later and get no response. Because they’ve managed to either dig under the fence or push their way out of the hole, and now they’re god knows where!
And that’s a big worry for a lot of pet owners, especially if you’re just trying to relax out on a lounger with your sunglasses on too! You don’t want to have to be in supervision mode 24/7. So get the job sorted out right now. Call in a handyman for fence repair, get your panel either boarded up or replaced, and make sure your garden perimeter is properly secure.
Make Space in the Shed
You’re going to be buying a lot more plants, planter boxes, pots, decorations, and general gardening supplies very soon. You’re going to need space in the shed to keep everything!

And if you haven’t yet cleared out the remnants of last year’s gardening efforts, make sure you bag them up at the same time you’re doing other garden clearance (like the overgrowth above).
Sheds get awfully hot during the summer, so you don’t want to spend more time inside than you really have to!
If any of the garden issues below are still playing up in your backyard, the next 2 to 3 weeks is your last chance to solve them! When these are solved you can decorate your garden with block paving patterns.
