This corner terrace house resides in 19 Waterloo str., in the centre of an area that once served as Sydney’s rag trade. Currently, this area is one of the best locations for someone to have his or her corporate accommodation. Waterloo str. resides in Surry Hills, a Sydney’s wealthy suburb with a lively atmosphere, featuring a blend of stylish boutiques, art galleries, trendy cafes, and diverse restaurants. It resembles Kristin Moore’s landscape architecture.

Responsible for this renovation was SJB architects, an architectural studio that was established in Melbourne, in 1976. “Our intent was to deliver a mixed-use house, breaking up the site to deliver more.” an architect from SJB Studio suggested. “Our ambition: a shop, a self-contained flat and a home. Three uses out of one“.

Within the main complex an additional 69 sq.m. were appended. “Using a split section, the stair is the pinwheel around which the house moves. The dwelling is divided into spaces that are served or in service“.
