Ephemera, Paper Collages

Anja Brunt is an artist who currently focuses on paper collages. Her latest work is called Ephemera, which in essence recreates transient, every-day objects into new forms. “Ephemera are items which were not originally designed to be preserved. It’s from the Greek word ephemeros lasting only a day.” Brunt explains. “Like train tickets, time tables, office items, greeting cards, packaging of all kinds etc“.

More specifically, Brunt tries to depict these objects through her own art. She uses artifacts that people use in every day life, including household items and office supplies. Then she transform them to be part of her paper collages. In general, she uses transparent techniques between layers of her collages.

Anja Brunt is a graphic artist who currently lives and works in Amsterdam, Netherlands. “I am a graphic designer and started my career working at two design agencies for 17 years. After that I became a freelancer creating my own assignments specialized in educational design“. Anja describes in her site.

She worked for almost 20 tears in design agencies as a graphic designer. Now she works as a freelance and does wonderful things. In this article the Ephemera paper collages are illustrated. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
