Mixed Media Creative Collage Art by Franz Samsa

Mixed Media Creative Collage Art
Franz Samsa is an Italian collagist originally from Syracuse, Italy. His work currently is engaged in mixed media creative collage art. “[…] collage is the synthesis of thousands of fragments united in order to recompose something that may be pleasing to our sights and feelings.” Franz explains in an interview.

Franz uses a detailed approach while working: identifying what to work on – inception, finding raw materials, creating draft work and finally his actual work. “First of all I try to mentally define what I want to represent. Then I plunge my self into the search for materials, browsing magazine for hours and hours.” he stated. “After that, I let go of my self and I make up the first structure. The real first step is to glue the fragments then I start to draw the painted parts“.

Although nowadays Samsa focuses on collage he does not neglect his initial foundation. “I still paint today, so over time I thought of joining these two passions [painting and collage] to crate my work.” Samsa explains.

Samsa createss some excellent mixed media creative collage for one to check out. With distinct technique – collage, Samsa creates different but equally important results as Japanese graphic designer Taku Bannai. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
