Song 96: Inva Mula – The Diva Dance [The Fifth Element OST]
Is it an Aria? Partly, as it is based by one, namely Il dolce suono from the opera Lucia di Lammermoor composed by Gaetano Donizetti. And then, after 3.20 over the original composition, Eric Serra twisted the aria to another level. The new sound, amazing on its one, blends wonderfully the aria to Eric’s song and the new composition to the movie. From then one the new composition is an integral part of the Fifth Element movie. Whenever I recall this movie I visualize the Royal Opera House and Maïwenn Besco, the blue diva. The song was actually performed by the famous Albanian soprano Inva Mulla. The result is impressive.
