Sea Feeling Paintings
Quentin Monge is a French artist who after several years abroad he came back to his hometown, Saint Tropez. His paintings are colorfoul, minimalist with coherent notions. Although Monge’s work is brilliant regarding sea life, by no means these themes are the only ones investigated. He has a diverse variety of themes including, landscapes, surfing, minimal characters.
However, growing up near sea gave him a touch. In fact, in a recent interview he said that “Nature plays a big part in this as well. I couldn’t live too far from the sea“. In this series the main technique is acrylic on paper. The cover for this article is from Sarakiniko, a well known beach from Milos, Greece.

Quentin Monge grew up in a seaside village of Southern France. “The place I live definitely, there is a certain charm in those old villages of the South of France, the colors of the façade make a great color palette.” he suggests. As an illustrator he has an esteemed clientele with collaborations such as Apple, The Guardian, Airbnb or Hermes.
Nonetheless, he is also an artist with a considerable experience. “I usually paint the rest of the day and night. I am often very inspired at night and get most of the sketches and ideas done during the night” he explains. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
