Canicule: Dog Days, by Raphaëlle Martin
Canicule, Lazy Days of Summer
Raphaëlle Martin is a freelance illustrator based in Freiburg, a city in Germany. Canicule, the name of the series, is translated as Dog Days as the lazy days of summer. Simple, yet definitely not simplistic, these illustrations depict wonderfully the summer aura. A summer that is almost over but the next one is not that far.
Apart though for the summer, these artifacts identify the silence and the deliberate solitude from the noise of the city. There are times that one needs time to assess the current stance and, afterwards, advance from there. These illustrations is a great example. Enjoy.
