Philip Barlow is painter that lives in Riebeek Kasteel, the oldest town of South Africa near Cape Town. His main theme is landscape painting. “Although I work within a long tradition of landscape painting, my depiction of the ‘seen’ landscape is simply a vehicle through which I navigate territory of another nature” Barlow suggests and by browsing this series this is evident. Barlow’s nature is near, very near but at the same time so distant. He definitely depicts something about the sea, something about the summer and evidently something about life. Enjoy.
