Sara Landeta is a Spanish artist based in Madrid. She has undertook several projects. However, this one expresses the elements of freedom and captivity simultaneously. More specifically, in this project Sara sketches tiny birds in pill packaging. “[bird is] the only animal that although it gives it a meaning of freedom, because it is the only one able to connect with the earth and the sky, is also one of the main animals in captivity.” she explains. “This juxtaposition of the natural and the synthetic interprets the patient as a captive animal, and the bird as its metaphor“.

Medicine as Metaphor resembles the project Bird Illustrations in Moleskine Diaries by Fran Giffard. Both projects are colourful and nicely captured. In addition, both of these projects have as prominent theme the bird. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
