San Sebastián is a coastal city in South-East Spain. It has become a place for one to enjoy food, being one of the best gastronomy places. Apart from great food though, San Sebastián provides also cultural food through its San Sebastian International Film Festival. It occurs every September and it is becoming a custom having prestigious guests such as Emily Watson and Brad Pitt. Having these in mind the place becomes a serious candidate for one to live for some time of her life.
Mid Century Modern Apartment
Behind this wonderful house is Mikel Irastorza , an architect with presence in Miami, Berlin and San Sebastian. This is the second installation in EWAT by the same office, the first one being another wonderfull house in San Sebastian. This one is having contemporary as well as vintage items. It resembles installations in the older eras, in the fifties and sixties in this mid century modern apartment.
“After living several years in a white house, immaculate, almost perfect, I wanted a more broken. I wanted an aged to fill it with things space precious, as a metaphor of the moment that lives our old Europe, coming less in crisis, but full of wonders.” Irastorza explains. The house resides in Gros, centrally in San Sebastian, being built in the thirties. It occupies 120 sq.m. and it is in front of the old city and very near to the beach. The result is impressive.
