Friction: Tokyo Streets by Tatsuo Suzuki
Tatsuo Suzuki is a Tokyo based street photographer. Although born in 1965 he started shooting not before 2008. Having a mature view of the city he grabs instances, that otherwise are well hidden to the crowd. About the series Friction / Tokyo Streets Tatsuo says “The city friction, my own friction, focus overlapping. This series tries to present such moments“.
The series is strong and each photograph is very concentrated. Moreover, Tatsuo distills Tokyo and shows it how actually it is and not how it has to be depicted in a tourist guide, for instance. “My aim to shoot the street is to show how the world is beautiful, interesting, wonderful and sometimes cruel. By means of photography and through my own eyes with my gear.” Suzuki explains. This is evident for every one that lives in a center of a city. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
