Joly House, Bangkok, Thailand
Bangkok, Thailand’s capital, is an Asian metropolis with many faces: from vibrant street life to sparkling shrines, from local food in the street to haute cuisine, from contemporary architecture to oriental chapels. Stu/D/O Architects beautifully added an installation into the anyway diverse architectural facade of the city. “Our approach to design projects is to consider the layers of physical and cultural archaeologies at each site to invent new possibilities for the buildings’ function, context, and space, while insist on integrating passive sustainable design in every process.” and these are evident in this house.
The house occupies 750 sq.m. in three separate floors. Apart from being comfortable to accommodate a family of four, the house is a gem in the neighborhood. Elegant, with a wonderful swimming pool in the second floor, the house was adopted within the space around without being alone in the area. The result is notable. Enjoy.
