Glass Pool House, Wannegem-Lede, Belgium
Wannegem-Lede is a village that resides in North-West Belgium. The area is great for retreat and of course for cycling and trekking. The architect commissioned for this project was Lieven Dejaeghere, added an annex of the existing house. He renovated a poolhouse for a permanent resident of the region. The new house apart from the poolhouse, provides also a bar, a home cinema and living room ideal for the summer.
“The main house has a specific architecture with a saddle roof, […]. The extension separates itself as much as possible from the existing volume and creates contrast with its simplicity and light structure.” the architect suggests. As the swimming pool existed already, the architect needed to match it with the new extension of the house. The annex is plain with no overhead and fits wonderfully with the existing setting. Enjoy.
