Me(n)tal sculptures by Fred Eerdekens
Fred Eerdekens is a Belgian artist focusing on sculpture but definitely he goes beyond that. He “places the spectator in a semantic landscape in which what one had thought of as stable meanings are continually twisted and turned.” as his site suggests.
Art is uniform so sculpture and poetry can be expressed simultaneously. In this porject Eerdekens tried to bend metal wires to create sculptures having the sense of poetry. The semantic concept is projected through light in the wall. “Nothing has changed but everything is different“, “plus que parfait“, “dark” are ideas flowing in the air of his exhibitions. The result is charming. Enjoy.
