Song 77: Rolling Stones – You Can’t Always Get What You Want
You know The Rolling Stones so I am not going to share much information. Just that since 1962 the group is alive and kicking providing music, currently in the Zip Code Tour and this is approach healthy and formidable.
After sharing Sympathy for the Devil almost one and a half years ago, I needed to share another excellent song from from this group. You Can’t Always Get What You Want was recorded in November of 1968 form the album Let It Bleed.
“If you buy John Lennon’s observation that the Rolling Stones were apt to copy the Beatles’ innovations within a few months or so, ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ is the Rolling Stones’ counterpart to ‘Hey Jude’“, Richie Unterberger of Allmusic suggests. The idea the song advocates is so simple and yet to hard too grasp. Especially for generation X. Enjoy.
