Elegant Bird Illustrations in Moleskine Diaries by Fran Giffard
Fran Giffard is a London illustrator having multiple bases including London, Honk Kong and Bermuda. She has read Fine Art & Drawing at Camberwell College of Art. Her main techniques are aquarelle, gouache and graphite pencils and she draws mainly in her Moleskine diaries. Although she graduated recently (2010) she was shortlisted in some of the UK great awards, most relevant being The Threadneedle Art Prize, David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year and BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year.
She has exhibited her work throughout UK and internationally. Currently she exhibits the series titled My Beautiful Boys at Northcote Gallery, London until the end of the month.
For the last three years she has produced an incredible body of ornithology-inspired artwork. In general, she focuses on birds. Her center of attention are exotic birds, without excluding local birds as well. This is evident by looking at her work. She blends wonderfully her notes with these wonderful bird illustrations. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
