Portraits of People and Their Essential Everyday Items by Jason Travis
Jason Travis is form Atlanta, Georgia having a bachelors in Fine Arts from GSU’s Ernest G. Welch School of Design. His project, Personified, was featured in prestigious media such as Marie Claire, NY Times and USA. The project started in 2007 and early 2011 CNN commissioned Travis to take it to SXSW so that to show his work.
It describes instances of people through their essential, for them, everyday items. A laptop, a camera, a favourite chewing gum, a lighter, a pair of shades, are items that identify people; they are people’s extensions in a certain way. Regardless of the state, each person needs these items readily. A very interesting project knowing a person through the items. Enjoy.
