Joyce Polance Paintings
Joyce Polance was originally from New York. Her main medium is oil painting and if one checks her work she will realise the beauty of her paintings. She has studied in Fashion Institute of Technology, New York getting her Bachelors of Fine Arts and also attended Wesleyan University, Middletown. Although from New York she has been living and working in Chicago for over 20 years. Her work has been featured in Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times and Chicago Reader. It has been exhibited thorughout USA, but also in private collections such as Commonwealth Edison and Deloitte.
“The women I paint look to each other for deep personal connections […] By depicting the range of emotions that ensue as they open themselves up to new encounters – tenderness, sexual tension, jealousy, sadness, anger, loneliness – my paintings suggest that where there is closeness, there is often turmoil. […] I paint the women naked to suggest their willingness to be vulnerable […]” said about her paintings.
