Song 45: Gogol Bordello – Through The Roof ‘n’ Underground
Gogol Bordello was formed in 1999. The name of the group has different references in each word. The first one is from Nikolai Gogol, a notable Russian writer. The other one refers to an Italian gentlemen’s club. “Through The Roof ‘n’ Underground” is a song I loved in the first sight (well, more specifically from the first time I listened to it). It seems there are some political influences but nothing is direct. Enjoy.
“And as we’re crossing border after border
We realize that difference is none
It’s underdogs who, and if you want it
You always have to make your own fun“
