Ships from Above by Dirk Brömmel
Dirk Brömmel is a German photographer having studied in diverse disciplines. More specifically, he has studied photography, design and liberal and fine arts. He has numerous awards the latest being the “European Architectural Photography Prize 2011” in 2011. This article features the project kopfüber, translated as “upside down”, having as subject actual ships.
There are both cargo and passenger ships in this project. It is very hard for one to get the feeling of this view of a ship, and Brömmel does it wonderfully. In addition, having intense colours as background of every instalment, the subject is even more prominent. Having this view and this processing, each photograph becomes unique on its way. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
