In the world of languages there are some definite facts, such as USA’s second language is Spanish, and some not so definite ones; well at least for me. I could never imagine that Australia has as a second language Mandarin. And I could never guess United Kingdom’s second one is Polish even though I have studied for four years over there. While French is “officially” the second language in Canada. . in statistical numbers it is probably Mandarin or Hindi/Punjabi. Most likely Mandarin.
