Hot Shots of Italian Cinema by Marcello Geppetti
Much as Slim Aarons, Marcello Geppetti was one of the paramount photographers at the 60’s. He was capturing stars shooting at the Cinecittà. Cinecittà was an Italian cinema studio in Rome. In fact, it attracted Hollywood stars at that time. Still, much of Marcello’s work (over a million of photographs) is still not exploited. Therefore, there are several actions that needs to be made.
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton photo is considered among the thirty most famous photos of that era. Moreover, Geppetti’s name appears next to those of Andy Warhol and Cecil Beaton. His photographs were published at magazines such as the Time, Life and Vogue. Several exhibitions took place around the world including New York, San Francisco, São Paul, Milan, St. Tropez and Saint Petersburg. Sothby’s had several auctions of Geppetti’s work. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
