Green Lantern House, Alamo Heights, San Antonio, Texas, US
San Antonio Architecture
Situated in Alamo Height of the city of San Antonio, this installation was built by John Grable architectural office. Grable being the chief architecture of the team that built this wonderful house. The context of this project was to blend the historic essence of the neighbourhood and the environmental sustainability through new techniques. More specifically, photovoltaic panels, a green roof system, grey-water harvesting and LED lighting used for building the house.
The existing portion of the house was built in 1948. It accommodated a single bedroom. After the renovation, Grable let the existing house unchanged. In addition, he added a new multi-level public space. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
