Gallerie Mikael Andersen, Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin, Germany
Galerie Mikael Andersen was first opened in Copenhagen in 1989. After almost 20 year of fruitful interaction with art the owner of the gallery needed a fresh view of the gallery and Berlin was the place to search, being today one of the world’s leading gallery scenes. The actual place was an old brewery, dated back in the early 1800’s. Mikael says: “I found this building that is adjacent to several other galleries and artists’ studios and knew immediately that I had found the right place. I had a vision of what I call the “three-in-one”, gallery, home and guest studio, and here was the perfect house for it“. After a heavy restoration the gallery was ready to serve its purpose. The result is impressive.
