Song 9: The Rolling Stones – Sympathy For The Devil
Sympathy for the devil was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, produced in 1968. Mick Jagger said lately on BBC that while writing the song he was influenced on the book The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov‘s – a book elegantly placed over religion and God. The lyrics of the song are inventive, again, criticising the current society and how it became in this current form. Jean-Luc Godard filmed the studio recording of the song and released it as a documentary. Jagger said in Rolling Stone: “… [it was] very fortuitous, because Godard wanted to do a film of us in the studio. I mean, it would never happen now, to get someone as interesting as Godard…“.
