Surreal Photography

Égarements (Distractions) and Quotidien (Everyday Life) are two series by Cerise Doucède, a French surreal photography artist. Surreal photography explores visual imagery and tries to challenge the ordinary perception of reality. Doucède depicts these ideas wonderfully.

Cerise Doucède was born in Toulon and still works and lives in this city. She tries to stimulate a moment in different directions. Her two series presented here, Égarements and Quotidien depict ordinary lives with not so common events. The common theme in all instances is that objects defy gravity.

A very important factor when I start a new work is to follow the idea I’ve chosen and to create a series that evokes the same story under different angles. I don’t make images to make an image – I’m continuing a story,” Doucède explains. “The notion of a series is primordial. I’m a sort of collector of photos; I find it hard to know when a series is finished“. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
