BIALA II, Elements of Urban Architecture

Gustav Willeit is an Italian photographer that currently lives in Zurich. He studied at the F+F School for Art and Design in Zurich, Switzerland. The current series, BAILA, is the second one depicting elements of facades of selected buildings for this project. The first series of photographs can be found in this link; it was formed about two years ago.

These photographs portray part of the selected constructions instead of illustrating the whole ones. “Large urban structures tend to suffocate personal subjectivity into anonymity, however in the series this risk seems likely to be avoided.” suggests curator Katharina Moling. “Gustav places a single human being at the intersection of the diagonals, giving it a physical and symbolic centrality“. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
