What Was I Thinking by Tania Marmolejo Andersson

Tania Marmolejo Andersson was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She has studies throughout the world, more specifically a Graphic Design and Illustration degree from Norway, a Fine Arts from Altos de Chavón School of Design, Dominican Republic and a Fine Arts and Illustration degree from Parsons The New School for Design in New York. As her studies, her career is also diverse. She works both in Dominican Republic and in USA and currently resides in New York. She has received ASIFA and CINE awards.

In this article her latest work, creating large-scale painting of ambiguous female facial expressions, is presented. “In a different tone and sensibility, Asian erotic paintings —female portraits in particular, with their subtle sensuality—, have an influence in the conceptual and development phases of my current work.” Tania explains. “I explore techniques and concepts creating a contemporary crossroad of styles, where all those influences overlap“. The result is impressive. Enjoy.
