17th Century Oil Mill Renovated to a Plain House
Palomba Serafini Associati is an architectural and design office founded by Ludovica Serafini and Roberto Palomba based in Milan. They have numerous awards some being Compasso D’Oro, Red Dot Award, Design Plus Award and Product Innovation Award. “Our goal is to design free projects, able to interact in an evident and immediate way with people who choose them. Our success is measured by the amount of persons worldwide who have chosen to share their lives intimately with our products.” they explain and this is evident by browsing their work.
The 17th Century Oil Mill project resides in Salento, near Lecce. Furniture and in general all items present in this space are produced also by Serafini and Palomba. Having white as the predominant colour and using earthy colours for the furniture the audience for this house would immediately relax and calm down. The wide terrace of the house is marvelous and having in mind that the house itself resides in southern Italy the open space can be used throughout the year. A house I would definitely love to visit. Enjoy.
