Food Deconstructed by Mikkel Jul Hvilshøj
Mikkel Jul Hvilshøj is a still-life photographer focusing in advertising and editorial assignments. He is based in Copenhagen currently.
“I didn’t grow up in a darkroom or have relatives with a great interest in photography. It wasn’t until I was 23 that I decided to become a photographer.” he explains. “I had worked in a shipping company in Dubai, before going back to Denmark to attend college to study economics. It didn’t last long, though, […] While in Dubai I had bought my first SLR camera, a Minolta of questionable quality“. And it all started from then on.
In this project he created visual food recipes by placing all ingredients and relevant kitchen tools in one image. This visual representation is much easier for the one that is going to prepare these recipes making the process more accessible. Fish, omelettes, pasta, desert are all there. Enjoy.
