Women Portraits by Januz Miralles
Januz Miralles is an artist from Philippines based in the province of Laguna , southeast of Manila. He uses conventional painting techniques coupled with digital image processing to provide this captivating result. His main theme are women having as background, or even in the foreground, irregular brush strokes. The colours used are a range of greys and blacks, pale cream but some times red is used aggressively.
His work is ambiguous, mysterious creating questions that needs to be answered by the viewers. There are more than one interpretations from his work, it seems as after the creation of an artefact it stands on itself, behaves on itself, has its own stance. One of his projects was with the German photographer Tomaas. They created a wonderful result having, again, portraits of women digitally remastered. And this Philippine artist is still 26. Enjoy.
