What if someone lies in the poverty line and needs to acquire specific amount of food? What are the daily amounts of food with the available money in the poverty threshold? Stefen Chow is a photographer born in Malaysia, moved to Singapore at the age of two and currently lives in Beijing with his wife and his very young daughter but his work is spread throughout the world covering over 30 countries. With the project ‘The Poverty Line’ Chow tried to identify what poverty looks like in different countries. But at the same time enquired other things than poverty, more specifically the socio-economic viewpoint of each country and what resulted to the poverty threshold with the help of economist Hui-Yi Lin.
